draw
A draw is a Go game that ends with identical final scores for both players.
Also known as
jigotie
In Go, a draw—also called a jigo or tie—is the result when both players have the same final score. The score is determined by applying the applicable rules, including territory, prisoners, and komi. When those totals are equal, neither player wins.
A draw is different from a no-result game. In a no-result, the game is annulled or cannot be scored normally; a draw is a valid completed result with equal scores. Draws are uncommon in modern even games because komi usually includes a fractional value, which prevents equal totals. They remain possible under some rules or in handicap games.
