One-eye versus no-eye capturing race is a semeai between a group with one genuine eye and an opposing group with no eye. Both sides race to fill the other group’s liberties. The genuine eye acts as an internal liberty: the opponent must eventually fill it, so the eyed group has a tactical advantage when the outside liberties and other conditions are otherwise comparable.
This is a specific kind of capturing race, not simply any semeai in which one group has more liberties. When reading the position, first verify that the eye is real. The result can still be changed by outside liberties, move order, ko threats, and other local tactical conditions.
