large knight's move
A wide (3,2) jump used to extend or connect stones across a broad distance.
Also known as
Ogeima
A large knight’s move is a Go move or shape in which the destination lies three points away along one board axis and two points away along the perpendicular axis. This creates a (3,2) jump. It leaves a wider gap than a keima, while covering more area than the ordinary knight’s move.
The shape is useful for extending influence or for connecting and developing stones quickly over a relatively broad distance. It is larger than a keima but smaller than a daidaigeima. Its spacing also makes it less secure than a keima: depending on the surrounding stones, the gap may be probed, split, or cut.
