Auction komi
A bidding procedure that sets komi and may also determine which player takes Black or White.

Auction komi is a method of setting komi by having the players bid on the komi itself or on the right to take a particular color. Depending on the rules, the players submit bids or alternate them; the accepted bid determines the komi, often together with the color assignment. The details of the auction procedure can vary.
The purpose is to find a fair komi when the appropriate value is uncertain, while giving both players a role in setting it. Unlike ordinary komi, which is fixed by the rules or tournament conditions before play, auction komi is determined through an auction between the players. The rules must clearly state what a bid means and how the winning bid relates to color assignment, because auction-komi procedures are not completely standardized.
