The Kansai Ki-in is a Japanese professional Go organization headquartered in the Kansai region. It administers professional Go activities and organizes tournaments and other Go events. Its work supports and governs professional Go in western Japan, including professional qualification and competitive activities.
The Kansai Ki-in is an organization—not a move, tactical pattern, rank, or opening. It is separate from the Nihon Ki-in, another major Japanese Go organization. The name refers to the institution itself, rather than generally describing all Go activity in the Kansai region. In English, Kansai Go Institute is also used as an alias.
