White
The white stones or the player assigned White in a game of Go.

White refers to the white stones, or to the player assigned the white color, in a game of Go. It identifies one side of the game and distinguishes White’s stones, moves, and territory from Black’s.
Under standard rules, White usually plays second. White receives komi to compensate for Black’s advantage from moving first. White is the counterpart to Black, but the color assignment is separate from a player’s strength or rank: being White does not indicate how strong that player is.
